Edward Levin's practice is primarily in real property areas, including real estate financing, leasing, purchase and sale, workouts, and foreclosure.
He has lectured at and chaired seminars sponsored by the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc. (MICPEL), the Section of Real Property, Planning and Zoning of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), the American Bar Association (ABA), and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL).
Mr. Levin is a past chairman of the MSBA's Section of Real Property, Planning and Zoning, and he served as co-chairman of the Special Joint Committee on Lawyers' Opinions in Commercial Transactions of the MSBA and The Bar Association of Baltimore City. He is counsel to the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association, Inc. Mr. Levin is co-author with Charles T. Albert of Maryland Real Estate Leasing Forms--Practice. He is a member of ACREL and chaired ACREL's Attorneys' Opinions Committee from 1993 through 1999.
In Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, the respected English publisher Chambers & Partners cites Mr. Levin in the top tier of real estate attorneys in Maryland, calling him a "national leader." He is also listed in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for real estate law and in the 2008 edition of the International Who's Who of Real Estate Lawyers. He has been named a Maryland Super Lawyer in 2007, and in 2008 was cited among the top 50 Super Lawyers in Maryland.
In 2007, Mr. Levin received the Maryland Daily Record's Leadership in Law honor, in recognition of his professional accomplishments and his dedication to his occupation and the community. Mr. Levin was selected as the Distinguished Maryland Real Property Practitioner for 2006-2007 by the Section of Real Property, Planning and Zoning of the Maryland State Bar Association. He was selected as Mortgage Associate of the Year in 2004 by the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association.
