Richard Levine combines his 32 years of experience in real estate, tax and partnership matters in representing real estate entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and homebuilders in the Baltimore-Washington area and elsewhere in the United States. Mr. Levine is particularly well known for his creativity in structuring complex transactions, with specific emphasis on tax sensitive issues. He is one of the few lawyers in the United States to be listed in Best Lawyers in America in both the real estate and tax categories. Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business has named Mr. Levine one of America's leading lawyers in the real estate area, noting that he “works with so many top developers and understands the business so well that he can break it down and make it simple for the client to understand.”
Representative clients include Corporate Office Properties Trust (OFC), Glenborough, LLC, Toll Brothers, Inc. (TOL), and Villa Julie College. He represents many of the most successful private real estate developers in the Baltimore metropolitan area, including Continental Realty Corp., MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services, Mullan Enterprises, Inc., and St. John Properties, Inc., as well as the prominent investment company Alex Brown Investment Management, LLC.
Mr. Levine is a fellow of the prestigious American College of Tax Counsel and co-chairs the popular ALI-ABA program “Creative Tax Planning for Real Estate Transactions.” In 2008, he was named a Maryland Super Lawyer.
